People and place connected with story

Storytelling.
Storytelling is a powerful and compelling art form, astonishingly effective when used as an interpretive tool in a natural or cultural setting. The ruined, deserted castle, is filled with voice, sound, movement and colour through the simplicity of richly woven language. The spoken voice, gesture and importantly, eye contact form an extraordinary bond between teller and listener. The story is claimed by the listeners imagination who see and experience it in their own unique way.

Storytelling can:
  • Help us empathise with people of the past
  • Breathe life into an historic site
  • Nurture our relationship to the natural world
  • Provide context or the bigger picture
  • Reinforce concepts and ideas
  • Illuminate 'dry' facts and information
  • Inspire creativity and fire the imagination
